Honolulu: Morning Sickness Signs - What Exactly Are the Signs?

Honolulu,

We all get married then have this delusion that we will get to live the fairy tale life, prince charming and princess happily driving off into the sunset. All is well, then we make the first mistake, get married (jk) after we get married we have this great idea, let’s have kids. So the journey begins that pregnancy test comes back positive, hallelujah!! Well, almost, then this weird sickness takes over and we ask ourselves why, then we discover the joy of morning sickness. But with the first kid, what are morning sickness or early nausea symptoms?

Because each woman is different, this plays an enormous role on what morning sickness symptoms come and when. Let’s just start with the fact that the early sickness will begin typically week 4 to week 6 and consist of the following symptoms:

Lower stomach or abdominal cramps
Intensified sense of smell
Headaches
Food craving (pickle peanut butter with ketchup sandwich, mmmm…),
Exhaustion,
Excessive salivation
Backaches
Dehydration.

While this list basically is how I feel most of the time, with morning sickness it is just intensified.

Wow, what happened to that fun filled journey of a happily married couple with 2.4 children and a dog, well don’t lose hope, there is actually some good news. Early sickness is believed to be a sign of a healthy pregnancy, great, just what you wanted to hear, which should mean that all is well and unless you get sick there is something wrong, NOT true? You will find out as you read this article and other research that dealing with morning sickness it is varying. What about those lucky few that don’t have the symptoms. Well, again that does not mean that there is anything is wrong, you just don’t get to go through the joy of early pregnancy sickness.

Emotions can play a big role with your pregnancy and how sick you can get. For instance, for those unplanned pregnancies, there has been some evidence show that more severe sickness as opposed to those that are planning and are happy about the situation. I have talked with some women that talk about how the first pregnancy even though it was planned was worse, possibly because there is uncertainty and emotions are going all over the place with the first pregnancy. Another aspect when dealing with emotions is family, your Mom and Grandma can be the worst. Just suck it up, I didn’t get that sick or I just worked my way through it. Yea right, you know it is really easy to say to just suck it up 20 years later, my guess is that they forgot or maybe, just maybe you are actually are sicker than the two combined. Remember each body are different and will act and react accordingly.
